Ubiquity Protect triggers G4 Pro Doorbell ring when restarted/updated

The problem

An update/restart of the protect app on the gateway will trigger a doorbell event. I am using any state change as trigger and the metadata to identify the event type (as 'ring'). However, the event type is actually ring, even though it's a restart of the app. Any advice?
